Richard Stenlake Compounding Chemist is owned by Richard James Stenlake. Richard graduated from Sydney University with a Bachelor of Pharmacy in 1965 and opened his own pharmacy in Bondi Junction, Sydney in 1972. From 1972 – 1996 Richard carried out a community retail practice.
In 1996 Richard completed a pharmaceutical compounding course at the PCCA (Professional Compounding Centre of America) in Texas, Houston, USA.
Upon returning, he incorporated a compounding department into his retail pharmacy. As the demand for customised medication grew rapidly, in 1998 the pharmacy became a stand-alone compounding chemist and one of the largest stand-alone compounding pharmacies in the world.
The compounding pharmacy is located in Bondi Junction, occupying two levels at 76 Spring Street. The first floor houses the customer service centre, dispatch department and general office. The second floor houses the purpose built high-tech laboratories.
One of our major areas is still Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy where we provide medication all over Australia. The practice also compounds a number of over-the-counter preparations and other specialised prescription medications in tablet, cream, injectable, capsule, liquid and other dosage forms used in paediatrics, veterinary science, erectile dysfunction and other areas.
Richard Stenlake Compounding Chemist currently employs approximately twenty staff members in the office, laboratory and other roles. We employ several pharmacists, an analytical chemist, university graduate technicians plus secretarial and customer service staff.
